Our Mission

Our Mission is to celebrate cinema and preserve the single-screen theater experience. As operated by the Friends of the Hollywood Theater, we engage our community as a cultural and economic anchor with innovative and diverse programming.


Staff

Joseph Morrison, Operations Manager

Joseph Morrison received his BA in Radio-Television-Film from Temple University in 1989 and has been working in the media arts ever since. Spending time as a manager at both PCTV, the public access channel in Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh Filmmakers, he has also produced, directed, and edited numerous films and videos for a variety of non-profit agencies in the city. He currently is co-partner with Lindsay Woge at Fresh Heirlooms, and Operations Manager at the Hollywood where he is fulfilling his life-long love of film.
Wayne Massey, Theater Assistant

Originally from New York City, Wayne has worked in record, video, and book stores for many years, so the Hollywood was a natural fit. He is also the drummer in a local band, and loves old horror, cult, and Grindhouse movies. Wayne started as a volunteer fueled by the desire to preserve the nostalgic charm of a single screen theater with full size balcony, along with it's fun experiences with fresh an exciting content.

Teddi Salsgiver, Theater Assistant

Teddi Salsgiver studied Creative Writing and History at Carlow University where she served as intern for the undergraduate literary and art journal The Critical Point, president of Alpha Nu Theta, Carlow’s chapter of the International English Honor Society, as well as the recipient of the 2014 and 2015 Marilyn P. Donnelly Awards for Excellence in Poetry. She became a member of the Madwomen in the Attic Writing Workshops in 2013. Her poems have appeared in Chapter and Verse, Pittsburgh Poetry Review, and Voices from the Attic. Salsgiver came to the Hollywood Theater after five years of employment for Pittsburgh Filmmakers as the projectionist and manager of the Harris Theater.

Todd Ament, Projectionist

Todd began his career as a projectionist in 1997 and has run the show at countless theaters in the region, including the Carmike 10, all 3 former Showcase Cinema locations, and Dormont's own Cinema 4 (formerly the South Hills Theater). Todd's hard work at restoring the change-over projection system and late nights beside the projectors running The Rocky Horror Picture Show give him a special place in the Theater's history. He is also the owner, operator, and custodian of the Riverside Drive In in Vandergrift, helping to keep the drive in experience alive since 2005. Susan Mazur
President
Susan Mazur has been a Dormont resident for twenty years. She specializes in nonprofit consulting and financial accounting. Her clients have been diverse, from budding nonprofits to thriving small businesses, and she cares deeply about providing Pittsburgh nonprofits with the support they need to fulfill their missions. She has also volunteered as a financial and management consultant with the Bayer Center for Nonprofit management, working with nonprofits to develop sound financial and governance processes.
Jonathan DeBor
Vice President
Jonathan DeBor was raised "west of the city", and currently resides in the Borough of Oakdale, where he is also a Councilman. His "day job" is that of an English literature teacher and Director of Technology at an independent school in Pittsburgh. His love of film ranges from classic horror to comic book blockbusters to the latest independent, and is thrilled to help keep this amazing gem of a theater alive and vibrant for years to come! In addition to his work in local government, he serves as the Communications Director for the state English council (PCTELA) and as the President of the West Allegheny Foundation. His social media profile fills in the rest: "Teacher. Student. Husband. Father of Two Beautiful Girls. Fan of Strong Writing in Film, TV, Theater, and Print. Tech Guy and yes, Magician." When you see him at the theater, know he is always ready to "talk film", hopefully over a craft beer!
Sandy Stuhlfire
Treasurer
Sandy is one of the founding members of Friends of the Hollywood Theater and returns to the Board after a several year sabbatical, during which she continued working with the theater as a volunteer. She is an accounting consultant with Robert Half Management Resources, holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and has more than 30 years of experience working in accounting and administration of non-profit organizations. She is also owner of Horror Realm, which produces horror themed entertainment and fundraising events. Besides horror films, she enjoys broad comedies and is a huge fan of the Hollywood's popcorn! Sandy is a native Pittsburgher and has lived in Castle Shannon for the past 29 years.
Monique Fontaine
Secretary
Monique Fontaine grew up in Dormont, Pennsylvania. She earned a bachelors degree in political science from the University of Pittsburgh and a certificate in accounting from Robert Morris University. She is a financial analyst at Allegheny Valley School and also serves on the board for the Dormont Historical Society as the Facebook page administrator and the Dormont Democratic Committee, where she is secretary. Monique remembers swimming at Dormont Pool, sled riding in the park, and watching movies at both of Dormont’s movie theaters in her youth. She wants future Dormonters to have the same experiences.
Christopher Burnikel Chris currently resides in the Morningside neighborhood, having grown up in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh. After visiting the Hollywood Theater for the first time he fell in love with its atmosphere and independent spirit and soon got involved as a member of the Board. Chris currently works as a grant writer and fundraising professional for a local non-profit, after earning a degree in philosophy and psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Outside of work, his hobbies include reading postmodern literature, going to local climbing gyms, and arguing to anyone who will listen that Bloodsport is the greatest film in the history of cinema.
Rich DalzottoCo-owner of South Hills Financial Group (50 years in business, co-owner for 20 years), Rich has 20 years of sales, development, financial planning, and investment experience. A past president of the Upper St. Clair Jaycees, Rich has been a member of the Variety Club and the Bethel Park Rotary and is a Special Olympics volunteer. He also has been a board member of Peters Township Chamber of Commerce, and committee member of the Dapper Dan Ray Mansfield event.
Matt StokesMatt is a native Pittsburgher who grew up in Murrysville and has lived in the South Hills since 2009. He has bachelors degrees in Math and Computer Science from Clemson and NC State, and now works for a local company that makes math software. Since discovering the Hollywood theater a few years ago, Matt has become a loyal member and frequent visitor - you can typically find him hanging out on the couches at the back of the theater with friends from his movie group. When not at the theater, Matt enjoys board gaming, watching classic horror films and discovering hidden gems on Netflix.
